The Design

Strategic Wealth Partners

Your Business. Designed.
Your Life. Designed.
Your Income. Designed.

A planning practice for the life behind the numbers.

About the Firm

A planning practice, not an investment advisory shop.

Strategic Wealth Partners is a planning practice. Four decades of sitting across the table from people and thinking about whole lives — not just accounts, not just investments, not just the pieces someone else might sell you.

Strategies, not accounts. Products follow design. Design follows the person.

Assets are part of the picture; they aren’t the picture. We come from blue-collar roots and carry that ethic into the work: show up, do the hard part first, tell the truth, and respect that behind every plan is a person with a life to live.

How We Think

Design, not assembly.

Most financial lives aren’t planned — they’re accumulated. A 401(k) from one job. An IRA from another. An old policy, a forgotten annuity. The question isn’t whether you have the right vehicles. It’s whether they’re coordinated.

The whole picture on one page.

An account statement shows you balances. A balance sheet shows you a life. We plan from the second view — assets, protection, and cash flow, all in conversation with each other. Not six spreadsheets in silos.

Outcomes over balances.

Numbers on a screen don’t pay the bills — income does. A well-designed plan gives essentials a floor underneath them, so lifestyle spending can ride the market and you can actually enjoy what you’ve built.

Why Us

What you’ll miss if we don’t meet.

Most firms manage your money. We design your financial life. Three things almost no other firm offers together — and what gets lost when you only get pieces of them. Tap any card for more.

We design. Most firms assemble.

Assembly happens by default — one product at a time, nothing tying them together. Design happens on purpose. We start with the whole picture and only let in what earns a place inside it.

Every recommendation we make is a working member of the plan, never a stand-alone product. Products follow design. Design follows the person.

We walk with you.

The plan is yours. The discipline of staying in the room — through life changes, market noise, decisions that need to get made — is ours.

Not a one-time pitch. Not an annual review. A relationship that lasts as long as the work does. We coach, we cheer you on, and we hold your feet to the fire when it serves the plan.

Truth over comfort.

We tell you the hard things. We don’t dress up uncertainty. We won’t promise things we can’t deliver.

We’ll say so plainly when we don’t know — even if it costs us a relationship. Markets don’t read the script. Tax law changes. Life changes. Our job isn’t to promise none of that will happen. Our job is to design something strong enough to stand when it does.

Who Calls Us

Everybody has a castle.

Big, small, somewhere in between — we don’t judge the size. What matters is how the pieces of your castle work together. Almost every plan we design touches at least a few of these. Tap any card for the example.

Personal Planning

Coordinating protection, family transitions, education, and legacy — the parts of your financial life that don’t fit inside a single account.

Your Life. Designed. See an example
Example: two working parents, two kids, benefits and 401(k)s at both jobs, a little extra cash each month — and the same recurring kitchen-table conversations (college for the kids, their own retirement, parents they may need to help someday, taxes taking more each year) designed into one coordinated plan instead of four separate worries.

Business Planning

Succession, buy-sell, key-person protection, owner compensation — the design work that keeps the business standing whether or not you’re in the chair.

Your Business. Designed. See an example
Example: a founder planning her exit — designing succession, buy-sell, and key-person protection so the business stands whether or not she’s in the chair, and the team, customers, and family are protected on the way through.

Tax Strategy

Planning taxes forward — not reporting them backward. Roth positioning, distribution timing, charitable strategy, coordination with your CPA.

Your Income. Designed. See an example
Example: a high-income professional sequencing withdrawals across account types and tax years, so their retirement plan doesn’t cost more than it should when Social Security, RMDs, and tax law changes all collide in the same window.

Cash Flow

How money actually moves through your life. Income, spending, debt, reserves — clarity that lets the rest of the plan hold.

Your Life. Designed. See an example
Example: a couple who earn well but can’t quite tell where it all goes — designing income, spending, debt, and savings so what’s coming in serves what actually matters, and the plan doesn’t depend on hope.

Retirement

A window of time, not a date. Income floor, distribution sequence, Social Security coordination — designed as a system, not managed as isolated levers.

Your Income. Designed. See an example
Example: a retiree with several accounts across multiple advisors, saved well and still afraid to spend — designing an income floor for essentials, flexibility for lifestyle, and a sequence that lets them enjoy what they built without constant second-guessing.
How We Work, In That Order

Protection first.

Strategy second.

Products last.

It doesn’t make sense to renovate the castle until it’s protected.

Neill Turner

Partner · Wealth Advisor

Neill is the quiet calm in every room. He listens first, asks the questions that matter, and designs something that actually fits the life in front of him — not a template, not a product pitch. Clients often say that talking to Neill feels less like a meeting and more like a conversation with someone who genuinely has their best interests at heart.

He’s built his practice on directness — saying what he means, meaning what he says, and designing plans that hold up when the room catches fire.

Karen Jessey

Partner · Wealth Advisor

Karen has spent her career translating complexity into clarity. She has a gift for explaining the why behind every recommendation — not just what a strategy does, but why it fits your particular life. Her clients know they can call with any question, and they do. No question too small; no concern too early to raise.

Her credential set spans tax-efficient planning, insurance design, retirement income, and exit strategy — and she brings that precision to every conversation, paired with a warmth that makes the complex feel manageable.

Melissa Chastain

Director of Operations

Melissa’s approach starts with relationships. She takes the time to understand not just the numbers, but the goals, concerns, and values behind them — and makes sure nothing gets missed in bringing Neill and Karen’s work to life. Clients often describe her as thoughtful, thorough, and remarkably easy to work with.

Nisha Brushaber

Director of Investments

Nisha brings precision and warmth to everything she does. Detail-oriented and proactive, she ensures that nothing falls through the cracks — from the first meeting through every stage of implementing Neill and Karen’s work. Clients appreciate that she’s always a step ahead, anticipating needs before they’re even voiced.

Kimberly Jessey

Client Relationship Manager

Kimberly is often the friendly voice clients hear most. She works closely with Neill and Karen to make sure every client feels informed, cared for, and never left wondering what comes next. She has a natural ability to make people feel at ease, no matter where they are in the process.

Our Process

Paced, deliberate — no decision made before its time.

Each meeting builds on the last. Nothing gets implemented until every piece makes sense. Tap any step to read more.

+
Meeting 01

Protection Meeting

We start by making sure the foundation is sound. That means reviewing everything you already have — protection, cash flow, taxes, current investments — and looking at whether the pieces are actually working together. Often they aren’t. Catching that comes first. Everything else designs off it.
+
Meeting 02

Cash Flow Meeting(s)

We dig into how money actually moves through your life — income, spending, debt, savings — and build clarity around what’s working, what isn’t, and where the real opportunity is.
+
Meeting 03

Investment Meeting(s)

We review your current portfolio, assess risk tolerance and time horizon, and design a strategy aligned with the rest of the plan. May span more than one conversation depending on complexity.
+
Meeting 04

Implementation Meeting

Everything comes together. We walk through the full design, confirm the details, and begin putting it in motion. This is where the plan stops being a plan and starts being real.
+
And Then

Ongoing

After implementation, we don’t disappear. Six-month check-ins in years 1–2, a thorough one-year review, annual reviews from there — so the plan stays in step with the life it was built for.
+
